TITLE: Navigating Real-World Issues in the Management of Eosinophilic Esophagitis
Release Date: October 10, 2025
Expiration Date: October 10, 2026
STATEMENT OF NEED
EoE is gaining more attention, but it is still considered rare and often mistaken for other conditions. As a result, correct and timely diagnosis is challenging for clinicians. Many clinicians lack clarity on how to apply current EoE treatment algorithms, particularly regarding when and how to escalate to biologic therapy. As a result, patients may not meet payer requirements for prior treatment failure, which can delay or prevent access to dupilumab. Additionally, limited coordination between gastroenterologists, allergists, and support staff, combined with unclear roles for documentation, insurance submission, and follow-up, further restricts timely, effective treatment. These issues lead to delays, inconsistent care, and suboptimal patient outcomes.
