ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT
This activity is supported by an educational grant from Bristol Meyers Squibb

Release Date: June 11, 2026

Expiration Date: June 11, 2027

STATEMENT OF NEED
The rapid evolution of multiple myeloma (MM) treatment has introduced cereblon E3 ligase modulators (CELMoDs), a next-generation class of oral therapies designed to overcome the limitations of traditional immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs). Despite their promise in relapsed/refractory and frontline settings, significant educational gaps persist regarding their distinct biologic mechanisms, optimal sequencing within complex treatment paradigms—particularly alongside CAR-T and bispecific antibodies—and the recognition of class-specific toxicities. As late-phase data mature and regulatory approvals approach, community-based practitioners face the challenge of integrating these "off-the-shelf" agents into routine practice without the specialized infrastructure of academic centers. Improved clinician understanding of enhanced cereblon engagement and deeper protein degradation is essential to prevent CELMoDs from being viewed as interchangeable with older agents, ensuring informed decision-making and the maintenance of treatment continuity through proactive supportive care.

To address these challenges, this educational initiative utilizes an expert-led, longitudinal small-group model designed to immerse community-based hematologists/oncologists, nurses, and pharmacists in collaborative peer learning. By fostering a sustainable network of multidisciplinary clinicians, the program facilitates the exchange of real-world approaches and strategies for managing CELMoD-associated adverse events, such as myelosuppression and infection risk.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  1. DESCRIBE the mechanism of action of cereblon E3 ligase modulators (CELMoDs) and their biologic and immune effects in MM
  2. EXPLAIN how CELMoDs differ biologically and clinically from traditional IMiDs
  3. ANALYZE emerging clinical scenarios in RRMM to inform potential sequencing and integration considerations for CELMoDs
  4. IDENTIFY safety considerations associated with novel CELMoD therapies, including adverse event recognition and management in RRMM

TARGET AUDIENCE
Hematologists/oncologists, nurses, advance practice providers (NPs, PAs), and pharmacists who treat multiple myeloma with a focus on community practitioners
