Description: This curriculum is designed to empower neurologists, epileptologists, and pediatricians with the knowledge to address the unique challenges posed by Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies (DEEs). Through a blend of self-study modules, live discussions, and action planning, participants will learn to optimize care for DEE patients by understanding the impact of anti-seizure medications on both seizure and non-seizure symptoms.

Dr. Anschel graduated from New York University School of Medicine with Honors in Physiology and Neuroscience. He completed Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology Residency at Harvard – Beth Israel Deaconess, followed by Fellowships at Stanford University Medical Center in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology. He is Triple Board Certified (Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy). He was the first Board Certified Adult Epileptologist in Suffolk County.
Dr. Anschel’s medical practice has been focused on the care of people with epilepsy and interpreting clinical neurophysiology studies for the past 22 years. He is the founding director of the first NAEC Level 4 certified Epilepsy Center in Suffolk County. Dr. Anschel has lectured nationally and internationally. He has more than 90 scientific and technical publications; and has authored books widely used by medical students in the USA and overseas. Dr. Anschel is an Adjunct Associate Professor at NYU and NYIT.
