Shaida Khan

UT Southwestern Medical Center

Shaida Khan, D.O. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She serves as Chief of Service of Neurology at Parkland hospital, recently transitioning into this role from previously serving as Medical Director of the Neurology Clinic for 7 years. She completed her neurology residency and neuromuscular medicine fellowship at UT Southwestern. Dr. Khan is board certified in neurology and neuromuscular medicine.

She has been the site investigator for several clinic trials for some of the newest therapies in myasthenia gravis. She was awarded a 3-year research and program development grant to improve the quality of care, education, and expand research for the underserved myasthenia gravis population and successfully established the Myasthenia gravis clinic at Parkland Hospital, which cares for the indigent population of Dallas County. She was the lead physician working alongside Parkland Hospital Leadership and the Business & Development Office to establish the first neurology multidisciplinary clinic at Parkland, transitioning care for patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy from pediatric to adult subspecialty care, which launched in December of 2022 and has grown in national reputation through professional societies and advocacy organizations.
